SLIP-ON

I wasn't keen on slip ons for ages, I hated them. Even now, there are some I see and immediately think that they should never have been made. However, these, I love. I think they look so sleek with jeans. I haven't been able to wear these as often as I'd like to because the blisters are a killer but I have some glittery Topshop socks to wear with them until they're more comfortable.

THE LUXURY BATH

Baths are up there with the best things in the world like cheesy pasta and the feeling you have when you find a lost £5 note. They fix every situation, if you're ill, hungover, tired, heartbroken, a bath will help with all of these things. When I have a bath I like it to feel different to a shower so I have products that I'll only use in my bath...

Dead sea salts are so good for you skin and I could actually feel these detoxing. Plus they dissolve as soon and you pour them into the water so you don't have to sit on top of grit in your lovely relaxing bath.  

 

THIS SMELLS AMAZING! The bottle says 'Lavender and essential oils' which must include ginger because that's all I could smell, it properly wakes you up. Not to mention how fresh it makes my hair feel. I wash my hair about once a week because I hate the thought of washing away the natural oils and getting it dry is always effort and my hair always looks best when it hasn't been washed for a couple of days. Also, I only use shampoo in the bath and at the hairdressers because I read somewhere that you don't really need shampoo. 

I also use a hair mask in the bath. I left my normal one from Bleach London at home so used a John Frieda one. I'd forgotten how good they were! My hair smelt so good after and it was so easy to brush through.  

I have about 4 face washes on the go at the moment. I try not to use them all the time because my face gets too dependent on the soap and stops being able to fix itself. When I do was my face I try and do it in the evening so that my face isn't red in the morning and I have less to cover with make-up. I use this defoliator once a week. It doesn't smell particularly amazing but you can feel it working and for me that's more important. I really want to try their charcoal cleanser next. 

As with all Lush Products, this is amazing. It's so much more natural than shaving foam and the packaging helps the environment rather than hindering it.

I've had this mask for years! It's very strong so I try not to use it too often. Tea tree literally works wonders though, my face feels so smooth and clean after I use this.

THE CRICKET JUMPER

Yesterday, we went to Exeter to get coffee, take these outfit photos and do some shopping... Once again I spent way too much! I love this (no surprise) ASOS Cricket Jumper, it's so simple and effortless but looks so put together. I like wearing it with Nathaniel's Army Jacket too. I've also fallen in love with these ASOS loafers that I ordered in the sale. I've never had a thing for buying shoes before but, in the last 6 months I must've bought 6 pairs(!) from ASOS, of course.

REVIEW: BERLIN STREET STYLE

I bought the Berlin Street Style Guide at the same time as the Paris Street Style Guide. I read Paris first because it was the one with the most hype. While I was reading it, it was my favourite book, I wanted to live in Paris, I wanted to wear Paris. Then I read Berlin and realised I was a Berliner already. I do basics, jeans and cashmere pullovers not Chanel and the LBD. While J.Crew and Acne are still out of my reach they feel more me than Hermes. After all, I have German in my blood. My Mum always says my Nan would've loved me. 

I couldn't put this book down for a whole week. I was so easy to read. And acts as a guide to Berlin Shopping as well. I've made Mum promise to come with me and go to every shop listed in the book. 

I would say there is more fashion inspiration in the Paris Guide and more inspiration for interiors and such in the Berlin Guide. However, I can always refer to the Berlin Guide when I'm feeling dead on ideas. 

Be prepared for a great deal of comparison to Paris, with the book obviously siding with Berlin. By the end of the book the 'we're better than you are because we don't like a blow dry' gets a bit old but, if you look past that, I consider it a highly recommended guide.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMINLOUISEY

IT'S BEEN A WHOLE YEAR! I can't even remember the reason I started my blog, it almost definitely had a lot to do with encouragement from Nathaniel and my house mates, Edel, Hayley and Alicia. I want to thank all four of you for telling me to do this and constantly putting up with 'Do you want to take some photos?'. On the note of thank you's, thank you to everyone who has ever read anything particularly those on Facebook. It was a really big deal for me to share this with people that I know and you have no idea how much I appreciate every 'like', share, comment, especially the ones said in person. I am so ridiculously proud of this, it has given me confidence and inspiration and I want to tell everyone I meet that this is what I do. I finally have a hobby and something I enjoy and am actually good at. Jasminlousiey has grown so much in a year and I love to see that ticker go up. Here's to an even bigger and better 2015.... I love you all

HARBOUR

This was my first 'proper' day back at uni since Christmas, hence the lack of outfit posts because I've hardly been getting dressed let alone planning something worth posting. I've been looking for the best way to style this leather waistcoat since I got it (forever ago) and I think layering is it; it just doesn't look right without anything on top. Also, to comment on the duster coat, I actually hate them and I have no idea what made me buy it other than the £25 price tag (more than half price!!). Sorry, ASOS, I love you but £60 is just too much to look like a doctor or undertaker. HOWEVER, to my surprise, I haven't been able to take this one off, I just goes with everything and looks so put together. Anyway, here are the photos... Enjoy... x

REVIEW: NARS SHEER MATTE

I finally jumped on the NARS band wagon! I opted for the matte foundation rather than the glow one in the hope that by the end of the day I wouldn't have that shiny, oily look. And it worked! My foundation stayed put all day and didn't look like I'd been wearing it all day by the end of it. I don't think it compares to my MAC Studio Fix Fluid but then I don't think anything will. I also bought a shade that was too yellow but foundation never come in my shade (I always have to mix it with something). One thing that really stresses me out with 'high end' foundation is that you have to buy the pump separately AND it's never made clear that you do. The fact that Estee Lauder don't even sell a pump is ridiculous. I get MAC pumps on Ebay for a reasonable price and trim the end off the fit. It's a pain in the ass and I'll never understand why a pump can't be sold with the bottle but, Ebay always has a quick fix.
